In-Office

Full placement & restoration

Everything in-house. No specialist referrals.

Many dental offices refer implant patients to outside oral surgeons. At Ganger, Dr. Christopher Nguyen handles placement and restoration in our McKinley Park office — fewer appointments, better coordination, and one team managing your full care.

In-Office Placement & Restoration

Dr. Christopher Nguyen — our oral surgery and implant specialist — places and restores implants entirely in-office. No referral to a separate oral surgeon. From your 3D scan and surgical planning through placement and final crown, your full treatment is coordinated under one roof at our McKinley Park location.

3D Cone Beam Imaging

We use 3D cone beam CT imaging to evaluate your bone volume, nerve position, and sinus proximity before any surgical step. This precision planning reduces risk, improves placement accuracy, and means your implant is positioned for maximum long-term stability — not just approximate.

Transparent Pricing & Payment Plans

Implants are a long-term investment, and we make the cost clear before you commit. We verify your insurance benefits upfront, file all claims on your behalf, and offer affordable monthly payment plans so out-of-pocket cost is never a barrier to permanent tooth replacement.

How dental implants work at Ganger Family Dentistry

1

Free Consultation & 3D Scan

We evaluate your bone density, gum health, and bite with a 3D cone beam CT scan. You leave with a clear treatment plan, timeline, and cost estimate — before you commit to anything.

2

Implant Placement

Dr. Nguyen places the titanium implant post in the jawbone under local anesthesia during an in-office surgical appointment. A temporary restoration may be placed the same day in select cases.

3

Osseointegration

Over 3–6 months, the titanium post fuses with your jawbone in a natural process called osseointegration. This creates the same stable anchor as a natural tooth root — the foundation that makes implants permanent.

4

Custom Crown Placement

Once the implant is fully integrated, we attach a custom porcelain crown matched to the color and shape of your surrounding teeth. The result looks, feels, and functions like a natural tooth.

Transparent implant pricing

A complete dental implant at Ganger Family Dentistry — including the titanium post, abutment, and custom porcelain crown — typically costs between $3,000 and $6,000+ per implant. Most straightforward single-tooth cases fall between $3,500 and $5,000. Cases requiring bone grafting or sinus augmentation are evaluated individually at your free consultation.

Most dental insurance plans categorize implants under major restorative care and cover 25–50% up to your annual maximum. We verify your exact benefits before your appointment and file all claims on your behalf. If your plan excludes implants, we offer affordable monthly payment plans and an in-house membership program with discounts on all treatment.

Your out-of-pocket cost is confirmed before any procedure begins — no surprises. Call or text to schedule your free consultation today.

Dental implant questions, answered

How much do dental implants cost in Chicago?

A single dental implant at Ganger Family Dentistry typically costs between $3,000 and $6,000+, which includes the titanium post, the abutment, and the custom porcelain crown. Bone grafting — required when the jaw lacks sufficient bone density — adds additional cost and is evaluated at your free consultation. Most straightforward single-tooth cases fall between $3,500 and $5,000. Call (773) 247-5554 for a personalized estimate.

Does dental insurance cover implants?

Coverage varies by plan. Most dental insurance policies categorize implants under major restorative care and cover 25–50% up to your annual maximum. Some plans exclude implants entirely. We verify your benefits before your consultation and file all claims on your behalf so you know your exact out-of-pocket cost before committing. Monthly payment plans are available for the remainder.

Are dental implants painful?

The placement procedure is performed under local anesthesia, so you should not feel pain during surgery. Post-procedure soreness typically lasts 3–5 days and is managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. Most patients report the discomfort as less than a tooth extraction. Dr. Christopher Nguyen, our in-office implant specialist, uses precise surgical technique to minimize trauma and accelerate healing.

How long do dental implants last?

A properly placed and maintained dental implant can last a lifetime. The titanium post fuses permanently to the jawbone through a process called osseointegration and is resistant to decay. The porcelain crown on top typically lasts 15–25 years before it may need replacement due to normal wear. Routine dental visits, brushing, and flossing are all that's needed to protect the investment.

Am I a candidate for dental implants?

Most healthy adults with one or more missing teeth are candidates. The key requirements are adequate jawbone density to anchor the implant and healthy gum tissue. Smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, and prior radiation therapy to the jaw may require additional evaluation. A 3D cone beam CT scan at your free consultation gives us a precise picture of your bone structure, nerve position, and candidacy — no guesswork.

How long does the full implant process take?

The complete process from implant placement to final crown typically takes 4–8 months. After the titanium post is surgically placed, osseointegration — bone fusing to the implant — takes 3–6 months. Once stable, the custom crown is placed in a separate appointment. In selected cases, a temporary crown can be fitted the same day as implant placement.
